MSD are a research-intensive biopharmaceutical company at the forefront of innovative health solutions. We had previously worked for MSD in the UK, so when they built a brand-new laboratory in Haarlem, close to Amsterdam, we were top of the list for commissioning.
Works included testing and commissioning to ISO14644, this relates to cleanrooms and associated controlled environments. Equipment for the pharma laboratories, fume cupboards, waste disposal spaces, various working zones and offices had to be completely manageable, separable, and adaptable. This was due to the potential for various airborne particles.
A major logistical factor here was the European travel, especially as works were carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic. A benefit of working with CTS in Europe is that we have flexible travel documentation that allows us to move and work freely through the continent. At reasonably short notice here we were able to send a team of 8 to The Netherlands to work on specialist equipment in a pharmaceutical environment.
On completion of the job we provided MSD with all handover documentation, and a total working and interactive demonstration of the facilities. For us, it’s about being available for our client, being that dependable contractor for the most challenging job, and leading by example. We are committed to continued work in Europe, and we’re suited to working in specialist environments.
