- Richard Shelton, Contracts ManagerIn favour for London’s skyscrapers because of our greener filtration equipment.
This prime Canary Wharf office building is a striking, 20-storey glass tower. WeWork were fitting out the building after they had sub-leased it from the European Medicines Agency. EMA had vacated the building quite speedily around the time of Brexit, and we were called in to take on surveying and commissioning for a fast-tracked refurbishment before it would be re-let.
Because of the fast-track nature of the project, we were constantly on-site surveying around the clock, 24 hours per day. And the responsibilities for the work was split between ourselves and a competitor commissioning company. It was a pleasure to work in harmony with another contractor on site, communicating and coordinating our responsibilities on behalf of the client.
One of the key reasons that we were awarded the work here is because of the specialist CPC water filtration system that we own. Flushing heating and chilled systems can be very wasteful. There can be as much as 20 litres per second of water dumping to drain. But we own a far greener solution. Instead of flushing, we insert an in-line filtration system, and this saves water, energy, money, and the environment.
30 Churchill Place is one of a number of large office projects we have completed in central London. From our own office in Waterloo, just south of the Thames, we run a busy and friendly operation. We manage a modern fleet of vans and trucks to support our projects throughout the UK.
